Script details

One scanner, one scene, one screen

Fingerprinting in roleplay usually happens in /me lines. Code Studio's fingerprint scanner replaces that with a handheld device whose UI is synced between players: when an officer runs a print, everyone standing at the scene watches the same screen update at the same moment. That shared state is what sells the scene — the suspect sees the match come up too.

Working a scene

  • Scan a print and the device retrieves the subject's information on the spot
  • Every print generates a unique fingerprint ID, so evidence can be referenced by number later in an investigation
  • A history tab keeps the five most recent scans on the device — useful when one traffic stop turns into three detentions
  • Prop animations and sound effects run through the scan, so the interaction reads clearly to everyone watching

Fits any stack

The core is standalone and the open config adapts it to almost any framework, with ESX, QBCore and Qbox setups covered. Hand it out as a usable item — the docs ship ready-made finger_scanner item definitions for qb-core and ox_inventory — or bind it to a command. Other resources can open and close the device through its cs:fscanner events, so an MDT or evidence locker can hook straight in.

Under the hood

  • 1,000+ lines, with the UI and shared files open for editing
  • Language editor covering every string in the interface
  • Auto-update checker so you hear about new builds
  • The creator lists 0.0ms resmon at all times, idle or scanning
